We don't ask you to register or provide personal information before downloading software or files. If you voluntarily provide information by email, the information you offer is used to enhance the web site and/or provide answers to your questions about our company or products.
For each visitor to our Web page, our virtual host's web server, Hurricane Electric, automatically recognizes the consumer's domain name and IP address for the purposes of billing us for traffic to our site. This small bit of information gathering is a standard practice for any virtual host. (Usage statistics commonly aid server administrators in routing traffic on servers, in order to provide faster connections.) After the traffic logs are analyzed for billing purposes by Hurricane Electric, they told us that the traffic access logs are destroyed, usually within ten days. We were told that they do not sell the information or reuse it.
Sublimated Software, Inc., saves the names and e-mail addresses of visitors who have emailed us, but holds the information in strictest confidence.
Sublimated Software, Inc., has a no-spam policy and won't bombard your email box with constant offers. If you purchase software online and/or have provided your email address or other personal information, you might be notified of technical updates or enhancements to our software. If you entered our decryption contest, you will be notified if you are a winner. However, we don't like getting spammed, and we won't do it to you either.
Persons who purchase software with credit cards or E-wallet software need to be aware that credit card processing companies will take appropriate steps to protect the information which you voluntarily share, but they may have different privacy policies than Sublimated Software. Shopping online usually makes a temporary cookie. One-click ordering methods (where you only enter your credit card number once and never again) usually create a long term cookie on your hard drive. If you provide us with a credit card number (and/or other sensitive information), Sublimated Software will take commercially reasonable steps to protect this information, by providing a secure connection with your web browser during e-commerce using SSL on https. We will not release your personal information to other companies.
On December 28, 1998, a CGI "web counter" program was installed on this site to count hits to the home page. The program was written by Hurricane Electric, Inc., and, to our knowledge, does not generate a cookie or invade your privacy.
Sublimated Software, Inc. does NOT run any Java spy applets or "observing" programs on this site. We do NOT keep records of who downloads what. We don't use cookies to follow you around our site. If you live outside of the United States or Canada, it is up to you to obey the posted warnings on our site that 128-bit encryption software is not legally exportable to your country from the United States.
If you are running Netscape 4.x or Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x, we recommend you set your security protocols on high, and use anti-cookie software while surfing. If you don't like the interruption of cookie warnings, or don't use anti-cookie software, you can protect your privacy somewhat by following your browser's help file instructions for emptying your disk cache and memory cache.
